AI Roguelite is a text-based RPG by Max Loh, released on Steam on 25 October 2023. Locations, NPCs, enemies, items, crafting recipes and many of the rules are decided by a language model while you play. Combine a wooden stick with a rock and the AI decides what you made. Attack a robot with a raw salmon and the outcome depends on how plausible the AI finds the action plus a dice roll on your stats; the AI then writes what happened and reads its own story to judge whether the enemy was hurt. Every entity also gets an AI-generated picture, made on your GPU or in the cloud.

The developer says it works out of the box at no extra cost. An optional monthly subscription uses more expensive models, and you can also plug in your own API, such as OpenRouter or LM Studio.

Why level 4: the Steam disclosure says the game "heavily uses AI to live-generate in-game content such as text, images, and sound effects" and makes mechanics decisions in real time. Generating while you play is what level 4 means. It is listed because it is a clear example of that end of the scale, not because it is new.

The price is $14.99 (US store, checked 29 October 2026). Windows.
